Kalan is a personal budgeting app: you enter your regular income and expenses once, and it shows what you will have left at the end of each month. This page answers the most common questions and tells you how to reach us.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add income or an expense?

Tap the large circular + button in the middle of the tab bar on the home screen. Choose income or expense, give it a name and an amount, pick the payment day, and choose how long it runs: one time, a fixed number of months (for instalments), or ongoing (until you delete it).

How do I edit or delete an entry?

Tap the entry’s name on the home screen or in the month view to open it. Change what you need and save, or scroll down and tap the delete button to remove it.

What does marking something as paid do?

It only updates the progress indicator for that month, so you can see what you have already handled. It does not change the amount you have left — that figure already assumes every planned payment happens.

My payment day is the 31st. What happens in shorter months?

Kalan automatically moves it to the last day of that month. You do not need to create a separate entry.

I am not getting payment reminders.

Check three things: reminders are a Premium feature, so Premium must be unlocked; Settings → notifications must be on inside Kalan; and Kalan must be allowed to send notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Kalan. Reminders are local to your device, so they also need the app to have been opened at least once after you enabled them.

What does Premium include, and is it a subscription?

Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is no auto-renewal and nothing to cancel. It unlocks unlimited income and expense entries (the free version is limited to 5), payment day reminders, and data export.

I bought Premium but it is locked on my other device.

Open the Premium screen and tap restore. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase.

I paid but Premium did not unlock.

Try restore first. If it still does not unlock, email us at kalanbudgetapp@gmail.com with the date of purchase and we will sort it out. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I export my data?

Settings → export data (Premium). Kalan creates a CSV file and opens the system share sheet so you can save it or send it wherever you like.

Can I change the language?

Yes — Settings → app language. Kalan is available in Turkish, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and French.

Is my financial data private?

Your entries are stored under an anonymous account and are readable only by that account. We never ask for your name, email, or phone number, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting an entry removes it immediately. To erase everything associated with your anonymous account, email kalanbudgetapp@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Which devices are supported?

Kalan runs on iPhone and iPad, in portrait orientation.
